Jump in, sit tight and hold on; The British Bomb is back, and he’s coming armed with a new team, a new car, and a fresh vision to rep the claw and take on the epic 12 round FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

That’s right, Liam Doran has switched things up for 2016 by signing a full season deal with the UK-based JRM Racing outfit to drive a redesigned 600bhp two-litre version of their Mini RX Supercar.

The deal marks a new chapter in Liam’s racing career, which has previously seen him run his own team in the FIA World and European championships. Switching to JRM Racing, will allow the 29 year old to re-focus on his race craft, and concentrate on scoring the best possible results on track.

One of the main reasons for this whole deal happening is because of the car and team being what they are. The setup JRM have established is solid, and the car is going to be a strong, fast, and reliable package,”explained Liam. “The sport [World RX] has evolved hugely, and if we are going to succeed in both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships, we need a reliable package to start with.”

“Having run my own team, I’m very technically minded and from what I have seen at the team’s headquarters in Daventry, and at events, I have no doubts at all that the car can do what it needs to do.”

JRM Managing Director, Jason King, wrapped things up by saying: “It’s great to have Liam on board for the 2016 World RX season and for him to be at the heart of an all-British team. We learned a lot about the series last year and we’re ready to make our mark as a full season entrant in 2016.

“We’ve done a lot of work on the MINI to meet the new two-litre engine regulations and marrying the car’s chassis – which handles superbly and gives the driver great stability and feedback – to a more powerful engine is an exciting prospect. Liam’s pedigree in World RX is undoubted and he’s the sort of driver we really wanted to work with in 2016 so we can make the performance step that we know the car is capable of. We know he will extract every bit of performance out of the car and create a spectacular show out on track.”
