The Lydden Hill provisional events calendar has been released with on track action taking place most weekends from March through to November.
Lydden will once again host some major rallycross events with the highlight being the British Round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship which returns on 27-28 May. This will be the last time spectators can enjoy this premier event at the Kent circuit as it moves to Silverstone in 2018.
Other feature events include two rounds of the British Rallycross Championship, the first on Easter Monday (17 April) and then again on the August Bank Holiday Monday (28 August).
There are some new additions to the calendar for this year from Borough 19 Motor Club sprint race on Saturday 15 July, the family friendly Trucksport at Lydden on 5-6 August to a Classic Car Festival on Saturday 12th August.
The BHP Show will once again return to the circuit on the 1st of May and the British Drift Championship will take to the track for the ‘King of the Hill’ on 22-23 July. If that isn’t enough drift action, there will also be a number of Sideways Saturday track days throughout the year.
Two wheel action will once again feature from the Vintage Motor Cycle Club on 19-20 August. No Limits Track Days will also be offering a number of motorcycle track days throughout the year as well as Lydden’s own car and bike track days, so there will be plenty of opportunity for fans to take their own vehicles around the circuit.
The 2017 race season will end with Motor Mania featuring fireworks on the 4th November, a brand new event for this year.
Lydden Hill Circuit Director, Pauline Gevaux commented “We are really pleased to announce our provisional calendar for 2017. This year we are celebrating 50 years of Rallycross at Lydden Hill and we hope the fans will enjoy joining in the celebrations at the World Rallycross and British Rallycross events. The team have worked very hard to make this year bigger and better with some exciting racing events so we look forward to what promises to be a fantastic year at Lydden Hill.”
Tickets for some of the events are already available to purchase in advance at www.lyddenhill.co.uk. Season passes are also available to purchase for the ultimate fan who can enjoy a whole year of action at a reduced cost.
