Two rounds of ACU Championships will take place over the weekend of August 19/20th. The first is the Girder Fork Championship for those bikes with girder forks and rigid frames – true classic racing. The second is the ACU Classic 50cc Championship coming to the track where they first started racing.
Vintage wise we will be racing bikes and three wheelers dating from the early 1930's through to the late 1980's all in appropriate class events. So you can see all the makes, BSA, Norton, Triumph, Greeves, Ducati, MZ, Benelli, Rudge, Royal Enfield, Velocette, AJS, Vincent, BSA Bantams, BMW, Moto Guzzi, Morgan 3-Wheelers and Matchless in original form and developed special racers. These are not just parade laps - the racing is serious and competitive!
On top of this, the BSSO scooter club will hold rounds of their championships - a spectacular site to see. They will also have a memorial race as a tribute to Paul Uffinden, the Uffinden Memoria Race. This will take place on the Saturday with the trophy being presented to the winner at the Saturday Evening Social.
And for some serious visitors we will also feature taxi rides, this is for those who would like a trip round the circuit as a sidecar passenger with all procedes going to the Air Ambulance Service. Enquire at the race office if you are interested in seeing Lydden from just above the tarmac!
